Rollaway Work-Out” at the Sheraton Premier, Tysons
This winter’s freezing temperatures are creating an urgent need for safe and warm places for the homeless to sleep. The Sheraton Premier Tysons is doing it’s part to meet that urgent need. The hotel has donated 85 rollaway beds for use at Pathways to Housing DC, Central Union Mission, McKenna House of Catholic Charities, Calvary Women's Services, Annandale Christian Community for Action and Mission of Love Charities.
KEYS for the Homeless gratefully acknowledges the help of the Sheraton’s Director of Housekeeping, Rosalina Argueta and the terrific staff who helped in loading the beds for transport. The Sheraton Premier stored the donated beds on an indoor racket ball court. The housekeeping staff and our volunteers did get quite a “work-out” moving the bed up a winding staircase to the loading area. KEYS President, Valarie Johnson says, “If people were to ask if I had been to the gym that day, I could honestly say, YEP! But it’s the best work-out I've ever had, knowing that the beds would roll their way into someone's home!" The estimated value for this greatly needed donation is approximately $4,000.
