Gifts-in-Kind

Gifts-in-Kind
Our mission is accomplished through the generosity of in-kind donations. It is giving that keeps on giving that builds a lasting foundation.

Over the past 10 years, our vast hospitality industry and major corporations/businesses are responding to the critical need for practical necessities to meet real life needs of those living in our communities who are homeless or transitioning from homelessness and poverty towards self sufficiency. A special thanks to staff and management--concierges, security, housekeeping, engineering, human resources, valet laundry services-office managers and others--for they continuously ensure the success of our mission.

In-Kind Goods & Service Directly Impact Our Goals

Provides tangible assistance to serving the needs of the homeless as protected in Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (Fair Housing Act), the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act and the Fair Housing-Related Presidential Executive Orders.

Acts in response to The Charity Aid, Recovery and Empowerment ("CARE") Act of 2002 as a function to order things, has the potential for giving us hope, teaches us about ourselves and our organizations and allows us to find power in caring for one another. It relates to the potential of civil society to teach us more about ourselves and our organization.

Serves as a practical response to the plight of the homeless and demonstrates a willingness to collectively work towards the goals sought by our community leaders to advocate for the poor by providing basic goods to meet real life needs. Needed household items vary, as well contributions. KEYS provides an operational network that helps to sustain a community by connecting available goods to those who most need them. KEYS is a visible program that supports other community service efforts to care for those in need.

Works as a Right Practice, an efficient operation that merits the distinction of good business. Everyone benefits. By the very nature of its goals, KEYS establishes a structure to assist in the distribution of available goods to promote change. KEYS is rooted in social responsibility by offering hope and acting justly in providing a safer living environment for families in need. Family homelessness is not the problem of 'some other agency' but is the concern of the entire community. The organization is a specific opportunity for civic action that serves to strengthen the families of our nation's capitol.

A reasoning heart may reinforce how KEYS will empower our community, protect human life and human dignity, care for the poor and oppressed, the weak and the downtrodden, the sick, the ones who cannot support and defend themselves and reminds us that there is a need for understanding world wide poverty and the disparity between rich and poor. It is the hope that KEYS will meet an imperative to respond to the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
