With heartwarming hospitality and the grace-filled presence of Pastor Mark Horak, S.J., Jesuit staff, and dedicated parishioners, 56 organizations were honored by the Social Justice Ministry of Holy Trinity Catholic Church on May 2nd. The dinner opened with a sharing of the mission statements of each of the grantees, and expressed a promise of hope for the marginalized poor throughout the world and for those receiving direct services in the District of Columbia. The parish’s long tradition and commitment to generously contribute 10% of the ordinary parishioner tithe to community organizations recognizes the critical work being done in our community! This year’s Grants Program assisted in offering $351,000 in support of programs for Advocacy for Housing and Homelessness, Education/Youth, Food, Health Care, Housing Assistance, Jobs, Seniors, Shelters and Transitional Services, and Social Services. KEYS is most grateful to be among those who share in this abundant joy. |
