The Moon in the Mango Tree, http://www.pamelabinningsewen.com/ the latest work by Pamela Binnings Ewen, is an example of historical fiction at its finest. This story of a gifted young opera singer in the
Roaring 20’s traveling to Siam with her husband, a medical missionary, highlights the conflicting needs and desires in a woman’s life. A compelling and colorfully drawn tale of love, adventure, and differing expressions of faith, Ms. Ewen’s new novel is likely to become a major motion picture.
Pamela and I struck up a friendship through a writer’s group, meeting regularly to discuss fiction and poetry. During one of our meetings, I described the mission of KEYS for the Homeless Foundation. She immediately expressed an interest in finding out more. Upon realizing that KEYS serves the Greater Washington, D.C. area, Pam offered to host a benefit book signing in late May after the kick-off party to be held in Virginia. Books-A-Million in Alexandria was also interested in helping out with this effort.
The results will be a winner for all. We hope you will turn out, discover a great summer read, and show support for KEYS as well!
