Hay-Adams Transforms Lafayette Room to host Holy Trinity Youth Project to Prepare over 50 Packages for guests of Green Door.

On March 28th, our caravan entered the circular drive of the Hay-Adams.  Our cars were packed with supplies to prepare over 50 gift bags of bathrobes, slippers, towels, personal self care amenities and coffee mugs donated by the Fairmont, Four Seasons Hotel, The Hay-Adams, Omni-Shoreham and the Park Hyatt  in support of club members of Green Door.  An entourage of staff greeted, welcomed and escorted us to the historic Lafayette Room and quickly, the room was transformed into a marvelous space so that student volunteers could assemble the collected donations.  The community programs of Green Door prepare women and men with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other mental illnesses to work and live independently.  Thoughtfully, the students added a special handwritten note to express their messages of hope and cheer.   We then traveled onto Green Door. Grouped together in the Lodge, the students were introduced to the many activities and programs offered to the members.  A special thanks to Alex Gentsch, Youth Activities Coordinator of Holy Trinity, Megan Butler, Volunteer Coordinator for Green Door, Board Member, Colette Marquez, Dir. of Operations for The Hay-Adams and to the contributing hotels for making this project possible!
