Christmastime for Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Georgetown celebrates a traditional Advent Toy Sunday, to offer something special to the neighborhood community of Sursum Corda. In preparation for the 14th of December, with help from KEYS, Youth Volunteer Coordinator of the Religious Education Department of Holy Trinity, Alex Gentsch, planned for a joyful way for Holy Trinity School students to volunteer in service together for the 9:00am liturgy procession. Holy Trinity students thoughtfully wrapped the donated items, a spirited gesture that added a personal touch for those giving and receiving. The students were truly “Santa’s Helpers” that Sunday as they accompanied the “sleigh” to Sursum Corda after Mass to deliver the gifts. Many thanks to the parish for remembering other children’s needs and for wishing the families of Sursum Corda a Happy Christmas.
KEYS for the Homeless cherishes the friendship of Holy Trinity’s supportive parishioners and for the financial support received by their Social Justice Committee Grants Program. Above all, we are most grateful and impressed by the youth of this parish, who truly put their faith into action. |
