Fun-filled Summer Carnival for DC children hosted and funded by FBR Capital Markets
August always arrives too early. The back to school supplies are on the shelves, yet many families are still hoping for a summer day to be remembered. Situated in all corners of the Capitol, Washington interns are geared in stiff agendas, still weeks away from bidding farewell to their prestigious positions. Days were drawing near, yet in the offices of FBR Capital Markets, plans for a fun-filled Carnival were in the hands of over 40 summer interns. It was going to be that day to be remembered and a special day in the life of KEYS.
Planning together with a superb group of fine young professionals INVESTING in our community was a sure ticket for success. Barely enough time to form sub-committees, the enthusiastic interns team-worked: Location was KEY and thanks to Georgetown University the grounds were reserved. August 4th arrived and we were ready! Complimentary tickets and transportation for all, moon bounce merriment, face painting, the hit carnival refreshments--cotton candy and popcorn stands, pizza delivery for 300, and a pool of iced fruit punch pouches and snacks quenched and sweetened the day! Creatively assembled, goodie bags delighted the young guests as they were filled with fantastic stuffed toys from The Disney Store, a fine selection of books for all the ages-- thanks to First Book, and collections of other fun toys. Cooling off throughout the day with a splashing water mist, jived by music recordings with a live FBR D.J. artist, the children celebrated a wonderful summer day.
We thank FBR Capital Markets for their support in our mission. To Vice President, Richard O. Walker, III and Sr. partners, congratulations to your terrific interns for this memorable day!
